Folks who are mature are ones who humbly look for ways to help those who are less mature. kc bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17440862813109808755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995252502628895189.post-81944793328036739302014-08-26T19:27:51.707-07:002014-08-26T19:27:51.707-07:00I have seen this one from both sides and have gene...I have seen this one from both sides and have generally at least tried to be the peacemaker (not always successfully). But I think it is very sad when we let things like this divide us, rather then being willing to reach out to others where they are. Unfortunately being older can sometimes give us the idea that we are in charge and should get to have our way instead of asking how we can include others.Mike Erich the Mad Theologianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04682504413797395786noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995252502628895189.post-87540628871461599862014-08-26T05:59:35.429-07:002014-08-26T05:59:35.429-07:00I am always reminded of how the older folks accomm...I am always reminded of how the older folks accommodated the worship styles of younger folks when I first came to Christ in 1976. These seemed to put no stumbling block in my way in the name of tradition. I try to remember their flexibility when I am challenged to change. In a real sense, the church is all about the next generation.kc bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17440862813109808755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995252502628895189.post-23811852228361568092014-08-25T17:37:58.424-07:002014-08-25T17:37:58.424-07:00I agree we do not want drive off the next generati...I agree we do not want drive off the next generation by clinging to meaningless traditions. But we also need to avoid throwing out really worthwhile things because they are old. Whenever we go through a revolution of worship style (as we have been and still are going through) there are things lost and things gained and we need to decide what is and is not worth preserving. But a little less dogmatism on both sides would be helpful. However those of us who are older need to realize we cannot turn the clock back or even freeze it.
