What We Really Crave, Abba Alone Can Give

In a spiritual world of quick fixes and vague emotion, is it crazy to believe there is still a place for insights based on simple, basic, theological understanding. I believe it is worth exploring.
Our small group is beginning a book study on "Speaking of Jesus: The Art of Not-Evangelism", a book by Carl Medairis. Here is a write-up/snippet:
ReplyDelete"In Speaking of Jesus, Carl Medearis draws on his experience of international reconciliation between Muslims and Christians to remind us of the heart of the matter: Jesus. Here he gives us tools, stories, and the foundation we need to move beyond “us” and “them” and simply talk about the One who changes it all."
In the first few chapters Carl speaks about how evangelism has morphed from talking about Jesus to talking about Christianity. So far I am enjoying the read.
Sounds like an interesting book. I am not sure I would entirely agree with it, but I make it a point never to comment on books I have never read one way or the other. Maybe someday I may have a chance to read it and see for myself. (So many books, so little time).
