In a spiritual world of quick fixes and vague emotion, is it crazy to believe there is still a place for insights based on simple, basic, theological understanding. I believe it is worth exploring.

Old Erich Proverb - Philosophy
Philosophy is a long discussion with no definite conclusion; we need help from a source beyond ourselves.
The real question in my mind is whether God has revealed Himself to us. If He has that gives us a source of knowledge beyond ourselves. If this is true, and our theology is based on that then it has a inside knowledge that philosophy does not have. But if our theology is based simply on our reasoning it leaves us in the same place as philosophy.
Do you see it differently than theology?

DeleteI so agree Mike! It is why, IMO, we must filter all of scripture through the life, teachings and ministry of the One who plainly revealed God to us.
