Old Erich Proverb - Fires
God wants to do more than just put out the fires in our lives; He wants to be in charge, in the good times and the bad.

The King on Zion - A Song
The King on Zion
By Mike Erich
To the tune of “Majestic Sweetness Sits Enthroned” (Ortonville)
Why are the nations gathering
And a vain thing devise,
To fight against the Mighty King
Who dwells above the skies,
Who dwells above the skies.
“I have My King on Zion set,”
The Holy One declares.
Eternal Son today begot,
True Deity He shares,
True Deity He shares.
The Rod of Jesse forth was brought
To blot out sin and shame
And we from Adam’s sin were bought
To triumph through His Name,
To triumph through His Name.
He laughs who sits in heav’n above
And conquers all His foes.
Let us embrace His Son of love
’Fore His wrath overflows,
’Fore His wrath overflows.
Now we call, “Come, Lord Jesus, come,
With all Your glory shown,”
Who us our heavenly home did gain
And death has overthrown,
And death has overthrown.
And when this present world shall pass
And sin and toil shall cease,
We shall have with our heav’nly Friend
Eternal joy and peace,
Eternal joy and peace.
Trust Him whose righteousness we bear
While here below we live.
He who His own Son did not spare
Will with Him all things give,
Will with Him all things give.

All Laud Be to God - A Song
All Laud Be to God
By Mike Erich
To the tune of “How Firm a Foundation” (Foundation)
All laud be to God, enthroned ever above,
All perfect in wisdom with eternal love.
He is spotlessly holy with infinite grace,
With legions of angels beholding His face.
Give praise to the Father, who calls forth the stars,
And sent forth His Son to pay all our arrears.
The ultimate Ruler, o'er all things He reigns,
And none of the nations shall cast off His chains.
Give thanks to the Son, born as man us to save,
Who has borne all our sins and has conquered the grave.
He declar-ed us righteous ‘fore His judgment throne
And will come in the clouds to claim us for His own.
Sing out to the Spirit who dwells now within,
Guides us into truth, breaks the power of sin.
He seals us to God, is the Firstfruits of heaven,
To us power and gifts in Christ’s body has given.
Now let us exalt God, the great Three-in-One,
Co-equal in glory, comparable to none.
Now give Him our worship, our love, and our praise;
To Him may our heart and our voice ever raise.

Christ Is Our Righteousness - A Song
Christ Is Our Righteousness
By Mike Erich
To the tune of “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name” (Diadem)
Now Christ, He is our righteousness,
The Lamb for sinners slain,
Clothes us in perfect heavenly dress,
Free from all sin and stain.
Clothes us in perfect heavenly dress,
Free from all sin and stain.
Our finest deeds are filthy rags;
No goodness is our own.
All our attempts to pay the price
For sin could not atone.
All our attempts to pay the price
For sin could not atone.
For we are born of Adam’s seed,
Captive to sin and death.
And though we try God’s law to heed,
We fail with every breath.
And though we try God’s law to heed,
We fail with every breath.
But our in-i-qui-ties Christ bore,
For our transgressions died.
To cover sin the blood did pour
Out from His wounded side.
To cover sin the blood did pour
Out from His wounded side.
He holds the keys to death and hell
And triumphed o'er the grave.
Through Him the realm of Satan fell
And endless life He gave.
Through Him the realm of Satan fell
And endless life He gave.
He satisfied the law we spurned,
Our guilt on Him was laid.
From us the wrath of God was turned
And all our ransom paid.
From us the wrath of God was turned
And all our ransom paid.
He did our righteousness declare
Before His Father’s throne.
No condemnation now we share
Who are found in the Son.
No condemnation now we share
Who are found in the Son.

God's Grace - A Song
God’s Grace
By Mike Erich
To the tune of “The Lord’s My Shepherd” (Crimond)
God’s grace, it all sufficient is,
In weakness makes us strong;
And in the watches of the night
He always gives a song.
All of my needs He does supply,
He gives me daily bread;
Though I dwell in a wilderness,
By ravens I am fed.
When present light affliction here
Appears as trials sore,
I know He’s treasured up for me
Glory beyond compare.
If I must pass through stormy seas,
He’s ever by my side;
If I must go through darksome vale,
He ever is my guide.
And when temptations round me mount
Or my weak flesh holds sway,
He covers my sins with His blood,
And escape provides a way.
When all my efforts seem to yield
Nothing but barren sod,
I remember Christ will build His church,
And the increase comes from God.
I know whate'er my task may be,
Whate'er my gift or lot,
That Christ’s the one who placed me there;
My deeds are not forgot.
And when my course on earth is run
I shall behold His face;
I’ll dwell in peace, the battle won,
All through His wondrous grace.

The King of Glory - A Song
The King of Glory
by Mike Erich
to the tune of “Come Thou Long-Expected Jesus” (Hyfrydrol)
Open up, you ancient portals,
Let the King of Glory in.
He’s the conqueror victorious,
Who o’er all the earth shall reign.
He’s the rightful King of Israel,
Scion out of David’s line.
He’s the Son of God eternal,
With all might and power divine.
He has all the worlds created;
All the stars He calls by name.
He is very God unchanging,
For all time remains the same.
From Him comes all rule and power;
All things that exist He made.
He is equal with the Father;
Unseen God in Him’s displayed.
Born a man in humble stable,
He took on a servant’s form;
He partook of human suffering
Our redemption to perform.
He took not the form of angels,
But the form of Abram’s seed
That He might become a high priest
Who would know our every need.
He has purchased our redemption;
It’s for us His side was riven.
He has borne our sins and sorrows,
Lifted us from hell to heaven.
Sin and guilt had held us captive;
We’d no merit of our own.
He in righteousness has clothed us,
Made us fit before God’s throne.
Now He has on high ascended
To the Father’s own right hand.
He, our advocate, defends us,
Intercedes at God’s command.
By His blood He saves forever
All who refuge find in Him;
There is naught from Him can sever
Those who God does not condemn.
He will come with clouds descending,
Gather all His people in;
They shall be with Him forever
Never to see sorrow again.
He shall end all grief and sadness;
He will wipe all tears away.
He will put an end to darkness,
Bring in one eternal day.
Come you now, adore your Savior,
All you who His name confess;
We will thank Him now and ever,
Clothed in glorious righteousness.
He has conquered sin and sorrow,
Broke the bars of death and hell,
Transferred us into His kingdom;
Let His grace our praises swell.

Thrice Holy God - A Song
Thrice Holy God by Seraphs Adored
by Mike Erich
to the tune of “There Came Upon a Midnight Clear" (Carol)
Thrice holy God by seraphs adored,
What could there be in me?
That could merit Your great love,
That I Your face might see.
My righteous deeds are filthy rags;
I have not one good thing.
By law condemned and self accused,
I’ve no defense to bring.
My works cannot my sin erase
Nor I my guilt allay.
But there is One who bore Your wrath
And took my sin away.
He by His blood has washed me of
All my sin and stain.
In conquering sin, He conquered death,
And I with Him shall reign.
So not by my own righteous deeds,
Though numerous as the sand;
But only Christ’s own righteousness
Can meet Your law’s demand.
I stand clothed in the righteousness
Found only in God’s Son,
And this is Your own righteousness,
For He and You are one.
Now I still sin in thought and deed
And often break Your word.
I do not do the things I wish
But disobey my Lord.
While I am still defiled by sin
My comfort still is this:
I shall conquer death and hell
Though Jesus’ righteousness.
Thrice holy God by seraphs adored,
One day You’ll send Your Son.
Then mourning, sorrow, death and pain
Will be forever done.
Then I shall stand before Your throne,
Whom sin cannot behold,
And be absolved through Jesus’ blood,
More precious than all gold.

Christ Will Build His Church - A Song
by Mike Erich
to the tune of “Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken” (Austrian Hymn)
Christ His church will ever build up,
Out of living stones will frame
It to be a holy temple
Built to glorify His name.
Christ the Head rules o’er the body,
Every part and joint supplies.
He possesses the preeminence,
Though the whole world Him denies.
Christ, who is the one true Shepherd,
Evermore His flock shall lead;
Though the hireling flees the danger,
He is there in time of need.
Though we tread the darksome valley,
He is ever at our side;
Though our enemies surround us,
All our needs He does provide.
He who cleft the sea asunder,
Brought forth water from the stone,
He who ruled the storm and thunder,
He has claimed us for His own.
Who can stand against the Power
Who has made the earth and sky?
Though we face the roaring lion,
There is naught can Him defy.
Christ has put us in the body,
To each gift and place has given,
That we might all work together,
Casting out old sin like leaven.
There is not a part so mighty
But his brother needs to stand;
There is not a task so meager
God to honor has not planned.
With His blood He did us purchase;
For our sin He did atone.
He has come that He might clothe us
In His righteousness alone.
Who can bring a charge against us
If our Lord does not condemn?
No created thing existing
Can sep-a-rate us from Him.
Let us follow now our Master,
For He ever leads the way,
Tread on scorpions and serpents,
For o’er all things He holds sway.
Let us sow and let us water,
Knowing God the increase gives.
Let us face death, sword and fire,
Knowing that our Savior lives.
